Contribution Opportunities
EMS Wiki
Our EMS Wiki provides the opportunity for paramedics and EMTs to contribute to a much needed knowledge base with only a few minutes of time. EMS Wiki attempts to fill knowledge gaps regarding EMS system configurations through collaborative documentation.
Submit your Program to our EMS Directory
Prehospital Providers is compiling a directory of EMS improvement programs. This directory will provide information to prehospital care providers who seek to address problems in their own system by implementing new programs or joining existing programs.
Research Design Team
We are seeking individuals interested in designing research methods for this project. These research methods will initially involve survey development but will extend as the project becomes more focused. Once a research team is assembled we will provide a list of reading material that addresses valid and effective research methods. Members of the design team will be required to choose study materials from that list and implement this knowledge in their research design. During the design of research methods, this team will also be responsible for the documentation of progress and process (perhaps in the form of an online group document or blog). It is our hope that by using this method the "capacity to investigate community problems scientifically becomes a permanent feature of the community that can be used over and over again."
This is a volunteer position, as this is a grassroots effort. We hope to avoid burdening any individual and aim to provide contribution opportunities while allowing members to maintain a balanced life. If you are interested in being a member of this team please contact us and describe your experience, system and region, or send us a resume. We are looking for perspectives from varied backgrounds and system types to create a diverse team. We project that this team will have 5-7 members but may change according to our representation needs or your suggestions.
Submitting Articles
We are interested in well-written papers, how-to articles, success stories, not-so-successful stories, "what I learned" stories, tips and hints, instructions, motivational articles and other articles that will help our paramedics and EMTs succeed in improving communities and working conditions. You don't have to be a published writer, but we ask that you take the writing seriously and follow our submission guidelines.
